Greg Folsom holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from San Jose State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California (USC). He initiated his career in the private sector with TRW Space and Defense before transitioning to the public sector due to a relocation to Stockton. Greg began his government role with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where he specialized in providing disaster loans to individuals affected by natural calamities.

His journey in public service continued in 1993 when he joined the City of Stockton, followed by Riverside County in 2014. During this time, Greg developed a well-rounded knowledge base although he specialized in Economic Development and Redevelopment. Notably, in 2015, he assumed the role of City Manager for the City of Clearlake, where he achieved remarkable success in revitalizing a struggling city during his four-year tenure even through dealing with major fires every year of his tenure, including the Sulphur Fire (part of the North Bay Fires of October 2017) that took out over 150 homes in the city.

In 2019, he embarked on a new chapter by becoming City Manager for Suisun City. During his tenure, Greg significantly bolstered revenues, played a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of the Fire Department, and managed the city through the very uncertain times of the global pandemic. Significantly, Greg managed to cover the roles of City Manager and Community Development Director for several years in both of his cities and in both cities he was extremely successful in bringing new businesses to town and moving forward major land use planning initiatives. Greg retired from Suisun City in October, 2023, but his dedication to public service remains unwavering, and he is now actively seeking a new opportunity to provide effective community leadership and engagement. Greg most recently served as the Interim Administrator/CEO for the Lake County Chamber of Commerce while they recruited for a new CEO.

Greg is also an enrolled tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Greg was one of only two enrolled tribal members to be a city manager in California and was recognized by Congressman Garamendi and Mayor Lori Wilson for his exemplary leadership.
